Episode 33: Steve Bean
Tuesday Jul 25, 2017
Tuesday Jul 25, 2017
Actor and former comedian Steve Bean, whom you may recognize from Cheers, Quantum Leap, and Shameless, joined Maggi and David to talk about his early comedy career in Boston with David before digging into the elephant in the room, his fake plastic nose. Steve didn't mind us being "nosy" about his cancer as he talks about his Nose-Picking-Confession and the process of getting diagnosed, treated, and what's next after the tumor.
Steve shares his life long love affair with Paul McCartney, the theme of Chinese Restaurants in his life and proves that ART SELLS MUSIC! Sharing music is different now in 2017 and describes how he and his son, Jake spend hours going back and forth.
The back porch is where most of the great music in his life has been discovered, and coincidentally, Steve and David Letterman share the same taste in music...which according to Steve, is 'excellent.' Steve rounds out his Fave5 by putting an offer on the table for listeners--he will buy you a particular album because you are GUARANTEED to love it.
The Listener Song Of The Week comes from Arlo in Pacoima, CA with a quite funny story about Boz Scaggs and his father. Want to share a song and story? Make sure to email the show at ytunesshuffle@gmail.com

Tuesday Jul 11, 2017
The YTunes Shuffle Podcast visits with radio legend/tv producer/comedy writer/voice over extraordinaire, John Murphy! Host Maggi Mayfield learns all about the long history between guest Murph and cohost, David Earl Waterman and how between the two of them, dear friend John Ennis is the center of the Universe.
John shares stories of long drives with his dad and where they would end up, how his mom ran an FBI sting in her home and why a Boston criminal cheered her up. His background in small town Massachussetts let him to some strange jobs and he describes what a typical Saturday night looked like in Randolph, MA. We also get to learn his 'Kryptonite" and how an album cover drove his mother crazy!
Eventually he would learn the art of writing comedy from Dennis Leary and even Wheel of Fortune made it into the episode because the show plays a big part in his career early on.
The room shares stories of our first loves before digging into a beautiful story from the Tune Squad. Our Listener of the week is David's mother, who shares a song that reminds her of him on his birthday. (This episode was recorded just before his birthday). To share a story and song of your own, please email ytunesshuffle@gmail.com.
In honor of David's Birthday, we also go back to Ithaca, NY, his hometown to play a round of Band or Bar, brought to you by M2M studios.
John's Guilty Pleasure and First Concert take us through the end of the episode; but don't worry, if you'd like to ask John more questions, or follow his work more closely, you can find him here! There are more stories that just didn't quite make the episode, and you can find those B-Side Tracks here!

Episode 30: Ernie G
Tuesday Jul 04, 2017
Tuesday Jul 04, 2017
Ernie G is a nationally touring empowerment comedian, shaping the lives of young people all of the country. Maggi Mayfield and David Earl Waterman where blown away the entire episode because sounds like he is smiling the entire time and his energy definitely matched his Fave 5 songs.
Ernie spills the beans on how Ricky Martin may have spoiled him early on in his comedy career, why he learned the fine art of balloon twisting and why making pinatas started his family in show business! He has an incredible relationship with his Tia, who is one of the only Latina Actresses to have won an Emmy.
We learn all about "cholos" and "chinos" and what it means exactly to "Go Around." Ernie also schools us on break dancing and rapping and demonstrates one of them. We also find out what his time after school was like at the Boys Club and who the heck is "Hair Bear."
Our Listener Story of The Week comes from Shara in Robinson, IL sharing a touching story about a song handed down from generation to generation. Band Or Bar brought to you by M2M Studios, takes us all the way to Dublin, Ireland.
Make sure to check out all the B-Side Tracks that didn't make the final cut as Ernie describes his mama, how he met Maggi, and when he catches himself turning into an 'old man.'
